# beCPG

> Open source Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software for the food, beverage
> and cosmetics industries. beCPG covers the whole product lifecycle: product and
> document repository, formulation, labelling, specifications, packaging, quality
> management, new product development projects, supplier collaboration and business
> intelligence. Available as a managed cloud service or self-hosted.

Publisher: beCPG, Montrouge, France. Founded in 2010. Around 130 manufacturers use
it, including Valrhona, Bridor, Daunat, Belazu, SVA Jean-Rozé and Cuisine Solutions.

License: open source (GNU GPL v3), built on Alfresco, self-hostable.

## What beCPG does

- **Product and document repository** — finished products, raw materials,
  semi-finished products, packaging, suppliers and customers, with versions,
  branches, change orders, effectivity dates and full document management.
- **Formulation** — multi-level recipes with yields and losses, variants,
  simulation, comparison of trials, calculation rules and constraints.
- **Nutrition and labelling** — nutritional values per 100 g and per serving,
  Nutri-Score (2017 and 2023 algorithms), ingredient lists, allergens with
  carry-over, QUID, origins, labelling rules and templates, multilingual output.
- **Costs** — cost breakdown by ingredient, packaging and process, purchase prices,
  and recipe cost optimisation under constraints using a linear solver.
- **Packaging and eco-design** — packaging hierarchies, eco-contribution and
  PPWR / AGEC declarations, life cycle assessment, Eco-Score, product footprint,
  and the Green Impact Index for cosmetics.
- **Specifications and reports** — customer specifications, technical data sheets,
  BIRT and Excel report templates, search exports, printable catalogues.
- **Quality management** — control plans, quality controls, stability and ageing
  tests, microbiological criteria, non-conformities and customer complaints.
- **Project management and workflows** — new product requests, project templates,
  tasks, Gantt schedule, resource workload, validation workflows and notifications.
- **Supplier portal** — suppliers fill in their own product data, documents and
  questionnaires, with electronic signature.
- **Business intelligence** — OLAP cubes and dashboards on products, projects,
  costs and scores.
- **Regulatory compliance** — ingredient status per country and per intended use
  across 91 jurisdictions and 46 regulations, with the regulatory citation behind
  each decision, plus toxicity, SVHC and CLP calculations. Works alongside the
  Decernis connector.
- **AI assistance (Chef AI)** — search, analysis, document extraction and drafting.
  Every proposal is a suggestion a human accepts or rejects. Calculations with legal
  consequences stay with the deterministic engines. The same tools are exposed
  through an MCP server, so an external AI assistant can be connected.
- **Integration** — REST API, SAP and CSV connectors, GS1, Equadis, Salsify,
  data migration and synchronisation.
