What is product specification management software?
It centralises the data that define each product (composition, nutrition, allergens, packaging, physico-chemical and microbiological characteristics, certifications) and, from this single source, generates the specification sheets each stakeholder expects: customers, plants, R&D and regulatory affairs.
Which documents can beCPG generate?
Specification sheets for your customers, manufacturing sheets with recipe, instructions, packaging and palletisation plan, cost sheets, R&D trial sheets and sample sheets, in Excel, Word or PDF format. Nutrition tables in the official EU, US FDA and Health Canada formats are embedded as vector graphics.
Can we use our own templates?
Yes. Each product can have several templates, for example one per customer or per plant. Templates are designed in a graphical report editor and documents are generated in the recipient’s language.
How do I know whether a specification sheet is complete?
Catalogues define the properties required for each use (customer, GDSN electronic catalogue, website, ERP). beCPG calculates a completeness score and lists the missing properties before the specification sheet is sent.
Can suppliers fill in their own specification sheets?
Yes, with the supplier portal. The AI module can also extract data from a PDF supplier specification sheet to pre-fill the raw material, as a suggestion to approve.
