Connect your AI assistant to beCPG PLM

Your AI assistant, connected to your products

Your teams already work with an AI assistant. It knows everything except the one thing that matters to them: your products.

beCPG changes that. Connect the assistant your teams use, such as Claude or Gemini, or the agent your IT team is building, to your PLM through MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business software.

What it changes day to day

A regulatory manager asks their assistant to compare a customer specification received by email with the formula in the PLM. A product developer asks for the cost breakdown of three trials without opening the application. A quality engineer has a supplier data sheet read and the raw material prepared, ready for approval.

Nobody has to leave the tool they are already working in.

What the assistant can do

  • Find products, raw materials, packaging, projects and documents.
  • Read compositions, specifications, technical data sheets and the content of documents.
  • Analyze: compare products, check a product, run your saved BI queries, optimize the cost of a recipe.
  • Prepare products, raw materials or projects as suggestions.
  • Ask regulatory questions and check the compliance of a product.

Under your control

  • Your permissions: the assistant works with the permissions of the person who signed in. It sees what they see, nothing more.
  • Your usual account: each user signs in with OAuth, with their beCPG account.
  • Your rules: changes go through suggestions, applied according to the policy set for your instance.
  • The beCPG engines still do the regulatory and nutrition calculations, so the numbers stay reproducible.

Setting it up

beCPG enables the MCP server of your instance. Your IT team adds its address to the assistant; each user then signs in with their own account.

The MCP server is part of the AI module of beCPG, available with version 26.10. Configurations are provided for Claude, Gemini, Cursor and Visual Studio Code.

Want to see it with your own assistant? We connect it during the demo.

Chef AI

The assistant built into beCPG, with suggestions on every product and document.

AI governance

Which calculations involve AI, where your data goes and who approves each change.

An open platform

Open source, APIs and connectors to ERP, PIM and GS1 data pools.

MCP server: frequently asked questions

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use the tools of a business application: search, read, calculate, propose.

Which assistants can we connect?

Configurations are provided for Claude, Gemini, Cursor and Visual Studio Code. For another assistant or your own agent, we check compatibility with you.

Can the assistant see everything in the PLM?

No. It works with the permissions of the user who signed in, and sees only what that user can see.

Do we need Chef AI?

The MCP server is part of the AI module of beCPG. Chef AI and the MCP server use the same tools and the same permissions.
