Four questions before adding AI to your PLM
1. Which calculations involve AI?
None of the ones with legal consequences.
Nutritional values and Nutri-Score, ingredient and allergen labeling, QUID, CLP classification, costs and optimization under constraints: the beCPG engines compute them from your formulas. Same inputs, same result, every time.
AI is used where an error costs a correction, not a recall: reading documents, searching, drafting, translating, proposing.
2. Where does our data go?
The AI module is optional: it is enabled at your request.
Once it is enabled, Chef AI requests are processed by Google Gemini, the model Chef AI is based on, with the permissions of the user who asks. Your instance can also be configured to use an AI model hosted by your company: requests then go to the AI service you run. The AI module stores no business data.
beCPG does not use your data to train AI models. The beCPG platform itself runs on our SaaS in the European Union, or on your own servers.
3. Who decides what gets written?
You do. In beCPG, every AI proposal is a suggestion that a user accepts or rejects. Nothing is saved in the PLM until a person confirms it.
This matters more than it sounds: an assistant that reads supplier documents and customer specifications processes content you do not control. Human approval before any change limits that risk.
An external assistant connected through the MCP server works with the permissions of the user who signed in, under the rules set for your instance.
4. Can we prove what happened?
An accepted suggestion is tracked like any other change in beCPG: what changed, who approved it, when, on top of versioning and your validation workflows.
Chef AI also shows, under each answer, the beCPG tool it used, the number of tokens and the cost.
